Hugo

“At one point in life we all wish to know where we come from,” writes Hugo’s son, Dany Grunberg, who had his father’s diary translated and printed as a gift to family members.

Hugo’s diary is written in German and covers the years between 1943 and 1957.

Hugo’s handwriting is used to establish a link to the diary and to German, the language in which the diary is written. Words from the diary are circled to function as captions.
