Images of Imperial Istanbul
This portfolio is a facsimile edition of eight panoramic views from an album in the Saxon State and University Library in Dresden. The images were copied by Zacharias Wehme in 1582 from an earlier album.
Esin Atıl, the writer of the commentary text states that “Wehme album belongs to a corpus ‘Türkenbuch’ made for the Austrian Habsburgs”.
