Turkish Carpets

From the 13th–
18th centuries

An important exhibition of rare carpets was held at the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts in Istanbul to celebrate the tenth anniversary of a bank. This publication documents the diversity of Turkish carpets in various collections and traces the lines of their development.

The neutral book cloth is the colour of the fabric used to stretch and display the carpets at the Museum.

With the exception of oversized pieces, most carpets are printed on a 1:100 scale to give the reader an idea of their relative sizes.
