It was natural for Jason Susar, who grew up fishing from the pier of his grandparent’s mansion along the Bosphorus, to be curious about the history of this waterway and as a high-school student, to be inspired to research and prepare this book.
The revenue from this publication was donated to Turmepa, an NGO with the mission to keep our seas clean.

The envelope and bookcover of the Turkish edition. The pistachio green of the cover was inspired by a lively caique of the same colour at the Naval Museum in Istanbul.
The book contains some previously unpublished photographs including one of a yalı (a seaside mansion) with its private boathouse.
Published in separate Turkish and English editions.
